For many years, as a patient advocate, I worked on and initiated innovating projects about i.e. Shared Decision Making and information sharing in healthcare. My entrepreneurial mindset led me to start my own company (Meds²Go) in 2017 to solve a problem I experienced myself after starting using temperature sensitive medication (2 – 8 ˚C). In Q4 this year we will launch The Cool-One, our first product. A cooler that guarantees 24 hours of travel time keeping the meds at the required temperature. I want my journey in starting a MedTech company to inspire others, especially women, to start their own company and just do it. The truth being that most tech start-ups are still run by men. I believe in women supporting women and sharing information openly. To do so I joined The Next Women and participate in challenges and events to give women a stronger voice. Most of all, I want (technical) innovation to improve global healthcare.

Teodora Popa

I am a strong believer in innovation in the medical field. As a scientist, I love seeing scientific breakthroughs which have the potential to dramatically improve patients' lives. On the other hand, I have developed a very strong entrepreneurial mindset after successfully founding an international company which is disrupting medical education and medical mentorship. After having completed a BSc and a MSc as top of my class in Human Genetics at UCL, I am currently pursuing a PhD in Cardiology at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. I strive to combine science and entrepreneurship to create, to motivate and inspire other women across the globe to believe in themselves, stand up and be the ones driving medical innovation forward. I see Giant Health 500 Women Campaign as the force sparking the flame to get inspiring women together. It empowers them to pass the torch so that other women can grow and become better together.

Luna Dahal

Luna is a Medical Education Fellow at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge University with special interest in virtual reality in simulation teaching. She got her medical degree from the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, has trained at Luton & Dunstable Hospital and at the Royal Free in London. She has published and presented extensively, has worked in New Zealand on public health issues among the Maori population, and has a long-term interest in applying artificial intelligence in gastroenterology. Within Springboard, Kristen aids in the execution of Springboard’s signature accelerator programs for women-led businesses, focusing on the Tech and Health Innovation Hubs. Kristen has successfully spearheaded and launched the Women’s Health Innovation Coalition and has contributed to the submission of policy focusing on gender-relevant data transparency from lab to market. Isabel is currently pursuing a PhD at The Francis Crick Institute in London investigating key mechanisms of central nervous system and brain tumour development. Besides her expertise in biomedical research, Isabel’s passion for bio-entrepreneurship and innovation motivated her to join The Science Entrepreneur Club where she acts as the Head of Marketing. She further supports Panacea Innovation, an Oxford-based company, as the Event Lead working with early-stage life science start-ups and VCs. Isabel was selected as one of the 100 Leaders of Tomorrow within the 2020 Gap Summit. She strongly believes in building meaningful connections and fostering collaboration, especially at the interface of academia and industry. In her eyes, the fast-evolving technologies, especially in the age of digitalisation, needs to be utilised to tackle global healthcare and bio-sustainability challenges.

Hilla Shaviv

Hilla shaviv is a biomedical engineer who is a serial entrepreneur in women's health, working for more than 20 years in R&D of medical devices, the last 13 of which she focused on researching and developing women's health devices.

Hilla studied Bio-Fluid dynamics focusing on developing a heart assist device, as well as carrying out computational blood flow and in-vitro simulations. After working for a few years as an R&D medical device engineer, Hilla decided to shift gears and start working on her own innovations.

In 2007 she founded her first company, GalMedics, with the goal of developing a new tampon for women that treats primary dysmenorrhea. In spite of the device's great success in its clinical studies, it never reached the market due to lack of funding.

In 2016 Hilla started working on her second innovation, named Tulipon, under her second company Gals Bio. Tulipon is an innovative vaginal platform that supports a new family of noninvasive easy to use, vaginal devices that will establish a new branch of women's health and wellness.

Dr Mitzi Krockover

Mitzi Krockover, M.D. is Principal and Senior Consultant of SSB Solutions, a health care management consulting, development and investment firm with clients in 150 U.S. and international markets. She also serves as a co-chair of the Golden Seeds Health Care Sector Group, has been a Managing Director of Golden Seeds since 2018, and is a member of the founding team of the Arizona chapter of Golden Seeds

Dr. Krockover has been a leader in and advocate for women’s health and women’s issues. She was the Founding Medical Director of the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women’s Health Center, named a Center of Excellence in Women’s Health by the Department of Health and Human Services. She then served as Vice President of e-Health and Women’s Health for Humana Inc., Louisville, KY. In her role, Dr. Krockover was the company’s chief healthcare strategist and spokesperson for women’s health and health education. She iis a member of the Women’s Health Executive Team of Springboard Enterprises.

As Founding Director of the Health Futures Council at Arizona State University (HFC), Dr. Krockover a global advisory board of health and business leaders which provides support and resources to Arizona State University (ASU) to optimize health and to advance ASU health initiatives.

Dr. Krockover has served on both corporate and non-profit boards. She is Chair of the Board of the Directors of the Institute for Mental Health Research. Other non-profit affiliations include the Advisory Council of Take the Lead, the Washington University Phoenix Regional Cabinet, the National Council for the Institute of Public Health at Washington University, the New American Council of the Herberger School of Design and the Arts at ASU, and the Health Futures Council at ASU.

In 1999, Dr. Krockover was awarded the International Emerging Leader in Health Care Award, sponsored by Korn Ferry International and the Health Forum. She was named “Woman of the Year” by the Los Angeles County Commission on Women in 1997

Dr. Krockover graduated from Washington University with a BA in Arts and Sciences and received her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Northwestern University.
