Testimonials

Sara Beqiri:
As a medical student, Giant opened my eyes to an entirely new universe in medicine, the symbiosis between health and technology! This year I am a Conference Leader for the Giant 2019, but it all started off by a simple application to be a Conference maker for last year’s event. Joining Giant meant becoming part of this family that brought me closer to so many amazing opportunities, connections and paths within health tech. I now see my future in medicine bound to technology and I would recommend this opportunity to everyone with a curious mind and ready to witness and even become part of the forefront of science.
Francis Banhidy:
The role of a conference maker at GIANT Health allowed me and the entire team to have full input in the two day event! We got to experience the build up, the background work and the final astonishing result! I hope to continue to be a part of GIANT as it has so far been one of the most fruitful opportunities during my university career
Naiomi Rambarack:
Being a part of the GIANT Health Event allowed me to engage with members of the medical innovation community first-hand. I was able to be informed about new technologies such Ada and Genie Connect and learn about their roles in improving quality of life directly from their creators. The interdisciplinary nature of the field was well represented and I was able to communicate with Potter Clarkson and explore my interest in intellectual property law. I cherish being a part of a group of people with similar interests as we worked together exhibiting professionalism to ensure the smooth running of an event, we all had an interest in.

GIANT Health Conference-maker Leadership Team 2019

Sara Beqiri:

I am a Year 3 medical student at UCL doing an iBSc in Computers, Maths and Medicine. My management experiences include producing 2 events and 2 full day conferences for UCL’s Enterprise and Innovation Medical Society and currently chairing the General Medicine Society supervising a multitude of subcommittees, as well as working with companies like Medical Realities and DemDX. My journey with Giant started last year as a Conference Maker and have now progressed to Conference Leader, working on recruiting bright and motivated volunteers to join our big family.

Francis Banhidy:

As a graduate 4th year medical student my interests in the field of medicine have so far extended from working in a UCL research laboratory to dabbling in the world of AI and VR with Medical Realities. I am currently a member of the student advisory board for DemDX, involved in app design and marketing. My journey at GIANT started last year with being a Conference Maker and experiencing the thrill of a grand health tech event and meeting the people behind the process ,whilst also personally getting in touch with some of the key speakers and joining their projects. This year I have the privilege of being a Conference Leader with the aim of playing an even more integral role in the organisation of GIANT Health.
