Targeted radiotherapy may delay progression in metastatic breast cancer patients

Once cancer has begun to spread within the body (metastasise) it generally becomes harder to treat and survival rates are lower. The new research focuses on patients with oligometastatic breast cancer, meaning a few small secondary tumors have broken away from the main tumor and begun to grow elsewhere in the body.
