FDA to launch pilot program to speed up early-stage clinical trials

Federal health officials announced a pilot program Monday to speed up early-stage clinical trials, which they say will reduce development timelines by six to 12 months, in hopes of encouraging U.S.-based trials.
Patients with suspected lung cancer will be able to access specialist diagnostic testing faster and closer to home following the launch of a new robotic bronchoscopy service at St Mary's Hospital, the first in north west London.
