UK Company Verso Biosense Develops “Smart IUD” to Monitor the Uterus in Real Time

Verso Biosense, based in Oxfordshire, is developing a sensor-equipped intrauterine device designed to measure key physiological conditions inside the uterus – including temperature and oxygen levels – continuously over several days. The company says the technology could help unlock one of the least understood organs in the human body by providing data that has historically been impossible to collect.
Sonographers conduct ultrasound scans which are essential to pregnancy care and are also used in the diagnosis of cancer.

Almost 1,000 participants have been recruited into a liver disease study in less than a year using real-world NHS data. It uses software to identify and stratify individuals using historic blood test data held in NHS systems.
