50,000 invited to mental health study combining NHS records with genetic data and survey responses

NHS England has shared that 50,000 eligible adults living with bipolar, schizophrenia, psychosis, or major depression in England and Wales have been invited to the “world’s largest” mental health study looking to promote personalised treatment for severe mental illness.
A study suggests that artificial intelligence (AI) showed comparable performance to dermatologists in detecting melanoma, with similar sensitivity and specificity in prospective clinical studies.
Experts often consider melanoma to be the most serious type of skin cancer due to the likelihood of metastasizing.
